2026-01-09: Plant and Animal Genome (PAG) 33
The Plant & Animal Genome Conference / PAG 33 is designed to provide a forum on recent developments and future plans for plant & animal genome projects. Consisting of technical presentations, poster sessions, exhibits and workshops, the conference is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and applications on this internationally important project. There will be approximately 200 Workshops, 2,500 Abstracts, 1,200 Posters & 130+ Exhibiting Companies ... as well as social and networking opportunities. All in a relaxed and informal setting.

2026-03-23: Pig Breeders Round Table 2026 (PBRT)
The PBRT 2026 will follow the same pattern as previous editions: a friendly meeting with fascinating science and stimulating discussion held in a beautiful location. The University of Kent is set in 450 acres of parkland overlooking the historic city of Canterbury and its famous cathedral. The scientific programme, as usual, will be composed of contributions from those attending the meeting, organisations attending are strongly encouraged to contribute a talk and contribute to the discussion. The meeting provides an excellent opportunity to present and discuss new results with an informed, interested audience in an informal setting.

2026-05-04: Ignacy Misztal's short course on programming and computer algorithms in animal breeding
The course will last 3 weeks (May 4 - 22, 2026) and will be taught in 2 modules: Module A: week 1 plus Monday through Wednesday of week 2 - Week 1 (5/4 - 5/8): Introduction to programming in Fortran - Week 2 (5/11 - 5/13): Advanced programming in Fortran and computer algorithms in animal breeding Module B: Thursday and Friday of week 2 plus week 3 - Week 2 (5/14 - 5/15):Introduction to BLUPF90 family programs - Week 3 (5/18 - 5/22): Genomic Selection

2026-05-05: Biology of Genomes
The 2026 meeting will address DNA sequence variation and its role in molecular evolution, population genetics, complex diseases, comparative genomics, large-scale studies of gene and protein expression, and genomic approaches to ecological systems. Both technologies and applications will be emphasized. In addition, there will be a special session on the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genome research.

2026-07-12: World Congress on Genetics Applied to Livestock Production (WCGALP)
This is the premier conference for researchers and professionals involved in genetic improvement of livestock. Delegates from around the world gather every four years to attend the scientific program and to network with colleagues. This builds on previous successful congresses in Madrid (Spain, 1974 and 1982), Lincoln (USA, 1986), Edinburgh (UK, 1990), Guelph (Canada, 1994), Armidale (Australia, 1998), Montpellier (France, 2002), Belo Horizonte (Brazil, 2006), Leipzig (Germany, 2010), Vancouver (Canada, 2014), Auckland (New Zealand, 2018), and Rotterdam (The Netherlands, 2022). 2026-07-18: Animal Genomics Blueprint Workshop
Over the last two decades the visions outlined in these documents have served to guide intra- and extramural research programs at USDA and in the broader international community. This workshop will revisit the progress made and develop meaningful and tangible goals for the next decade in developing the third-generation blueprint for the animal genomics community. This in person event will take place at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, in Madison, WI. This is the same location as the WCGALP meeting on July 12 to 17, 2026, and the ASAS Annual Meeting on July 19 to 23, 2026. 2027-07-04: 40th International Society for Animal Genetics Conference (ISAG)
The International Society and the International Foundation for Animal Genetics (ISAG and IFAG) evolved from a series of annual workshops for comparing methods for detecting red cell antigens and variants of proteins to an organization focusing on basic and applied research on molecular genetics. The Society and the Foundation support exchange of research ideas, results, and applications by organizing conferences and workshops, comparison tests, and publishing Animal Genetics, the official journal of the Foundation. From its beginning, the Society has been recognized for its open and friendly character, providing an excellent platform for new and young scientists.
