QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Birds were from a cross between White Rock and Rhode Island red lines, or two independent commercial breeding lines, Lohmann Brown and Hy-Line (White Plymouth Rock). |
Breeds associated:
|
Design: | Initially, birds were genotyped for 162 microsatellite markers and analyzed for egg blood and meat inclusions. Part of chromosome Z was fine-mapped using 14 markers. To confirm the QTL result, association analysis was performed. |
Analysis: | QTL mapping was based on regression analysis using multiple marker information. A mixed linear model was used for association analysis. |
Software: | CRIMAP, GridQTL, DMU, SAS |
