    Animals:Chickens were from two different commercial laying hen populations suffering from two separate S. Gallinarum outbreaks of fowl typhoid.
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
    Design:Genotypes were analyzed for association with fowl typhoid resistance. For the first outbreak, birds were genotyped using 11 SNPs and 3 microsatellite markers in a previously identified region on chromosome 5. For the second outbreak, birds were genotyped using the Affymetrix Axiom HD SNP array.
    Analysis:The GEMMA algorithm was used to perform GWAS analyses using a standard univariate linear mixed model.
