QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Chickens were from two different commercial laying hen populations suffering from two separate S. Gallinarum outbreaks of fowl typhoid. |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | Genotypes were analyzed for association with fowl typhoid resistance. For the first outbreak, birds were genotyped using 11 SNPs and 3 microsatellite markers in a previously identified region on chromosome 5. For the second outbreak, birds were genotyped using the Affymetrix Axiom HD SNP array. |
Analysis: | The GEMMA algorithm was used to perform GWAS analyses using a standard univariate linear mixed model. |
Software: | ASReml 4.0, PLINK, GenABEL in R |
