QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | The founder population originated from crosses of 7 partially inbred lines of White Plymout Rock chickens. |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | Body weight was measured at hatch, 14, 28, 42, 56, and 70 d of age. Packed cell volume and blodd protein was also measured. At 49 d of age chickens recieved an injection , and 5 days after were tested for antibody measurements. |
Analysis: | A genetic map comprising of 26 linkage groups was established based on 145 genetic markers. ANOVA was performed. Effects of sex and family were significant and were therefore included as fixed effects in the model for QTL analysis. |
Software: | Minitab software |
