    Animals:The 2 extreme lines crossed to create the mapping population were the Rhode Island Red and a White Leghorn.
     Breeds associated:

    Design:Traits measured included: egg quality, albumen quality, eggshell strength, specific gravity, total egg weight, egg production, age at first egg, egg number, and body weight.
    Analysis:A total of 117 microsatellite markers were tested. Mapping of the QTL loci was performed with regression analysis using multiple marker information. The F2 data were analysed following a line-cross model.
