    Animals:Birds were from a cross between White Rock and Rhode Island Red chickens.
     Breeds associated:
    Design:Birds were genotyped for 162 microsatellite markers and analyzed for egg albumen traits. Fine mapping was carried out in a larger F2 population and verified in a commercial line.
    Analysis:Linkage analysis was performed using a least-squares method.
