The Department of Animal Science at UC Davis is seeking a tenure-track
Assistant Professor in Animal Genetics. The Department of Animal Science at

Position Description
The Department of Animal Science in the College of Agricultural and
Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Davis, is recruiting
an Assistant Professor of Animal Genetics.
The appointee is expected to establish a competitively funded research
program to address critical or emerging issues in the genetic improvement of
food animal populations. We seek candidates who will leverage emerging
methods and technologies, which may include genome editing, multi-omics
approaches, novel quantitative genetic methods, stem cell biology, or
reproductive biology, and integrate these with classical genetic improvement
approaches to achieve this objective.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics, Animal Science,
Animal Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field of animal genetics
(degree must be awarded by start of the position). Post-doctoral experience
is preferred. Evidence of research excellence is expected. The candidate
should have the ability to develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate
courses and the ability to develop and conduct extramurally funded research
in animal genetics. The candidate should also have an interest, understanding
and commitment to the objectives of a land-grant university and the
Agricultural Experiment Station, including mission-oriented research and a
substantive outreach.

Contributions to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and 7) three professional
reference letters and 8) an Authorization to Release Information form.
